Karachi: One of yesterday’s injured succumbs to injuries

According to our correspondents, a Shiite, Raza Taqvi, who had been shot by police yesterday during the ‘Labbaik Ya Rasoolallah’ Rally has succumbed to his wounds.

Yesterday, Majlis-e-Wehdat-e-Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organization held a protest march from M.A.Jinnah Road to the American Consulate. Thousands marched in protest to the Anti-Islamic American-made movie which insulted the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and his wife Hazrat Khadija. When the rally came close to the American Consulate, police used aerial firing, water cannons and tear gas to try and disperse the protesters. Several Shiites were injured due to the aerial firing and one of these, Syed Ali Raza Taqvi, died of his injuries this morning.
