Karachi: Bomb Blast reported in a Shia populated area, many wounded, 2 martyred

According to the initial reports received, the terrorists of the banned outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba/Lashkar-e-Jhangvi detonated a bomb, resulting in a blast in Abbas Town. It is being told that the bomb was blasted near the Imam Bargah.

According to the details the bomb was remotely detonated near the main gate of Abbas Town, where it was mounted in a motor cycle. According to the security agencies, the bomb blast was domestically manufactured and was detonated via a remote. The registration number of the bike is KFE 5038 which is registered on the name of Khwaja Naeem, where as the engine number is FP 0526585. This bike was registered on 24th of May 2011. The bike is 70CC and is the model of the same year it was manufactured, i.e. 2011.

All the victims of the bomb blast who were reported wounded are transferred to Patel Hospital, Fatmiyah Hospital and Aga Khan Hospital. Azhar Hussain, who was initially a wounded victim along with a brother from Ahle Sunnat school of thought have embraced martyrdom. A total number of 8 wounded people ave been reported from the hospital, where as the task of bringing in more casualties is still taking place.

Abbas Town was declared as one of the 14 most sensitive areas of Karachi regarding the security issues concerning Moharram. Several security personnel were deployed in the area, yet, the bomb being so easily deployed is a question for the security agencies.

However, the voluntary help by several Shias who are now present in the hospitals is worth a salutation.
