I was amazed to find that the girl was the daughter of Martyr Molana Ghulam Hussain Najafi

The girl stood outside Camp Jail [Lahore] holding some food and drink looking as scared and worried as a new animal at the zoo. Since I was a regular visitor, I was ‘not worried’.

Wednesdays were reserved for Shiite visits at the jail. Therefore every wednesday, I took a little break from work, bought some food and payed a visit to the imprisoned Shiites. This was my favourite hobby.
When the prisoners came out, I was amazed to discover that the girl was one of Martyr Molana Najafi’s three daughters. The martyr had 3 daughters who would usually bring him food. The martyr was a Shiite religious scholar, author, analyst and Vice Principle of Jamiatul Muntazir. His crime was writing responses to books written by members of the banned group of Sipah-e-Sahaba.
Martyr Najafi’s arrest was carried out on special orders from Shahbaz Shareef. For his arrest, police actually raided Jamiatul Muntazir. The CM [who was not yet known as 'Khadim Ala' as in 'Chief Servant'] said that they would ‘never release Ghulam Hussain Najafi and Malik Ishaq’. However, not only did the CM use the ‘Free Judiciary’ to release Malik Ishaq, but he was provided government protocol and left free to spread sectarianism throughout the country.
On one hand terrorists were released from courts all over Lahore and exported to Karachi and Quetta, and on the other hand, Martyr Ghulam Hussain Najafi was killed so brutally that both him and his daughter suffered bullet wounds. His injured daughter reached the hospital with her injured father still breathing, but God knows better whether the reason the doctors refused to help the bleeding daughter and father was out of fear from the CM.
I can also never forget Molana Ghulam Raza Naqvi’s Nephew Mohammed Ali. I can never forget his tears. I asked him ‘Why do you fear the imprisonment?’, he replied, ‘I do not fear imprisonment. I cry because noone will so much as give my daughters money for milk.’ He told the truth. He’s been in prison for 14 years. When his daughters were young, they longed for milk. When they got a little older, for school. Now that it’s time for marriage, they will not have enough money for dowry.
Molana Ghulam Raza Naqvi himself has now been in prison for over 16 years. He’s paralyzed and still in jail and the so-called ‘free judiciary’ refuses to so much as hear his case. He’s waiting for a date for the judiciary to hear his case, waiting now for over 16 years.
Saqi Shah and Liaqat Jafari were both arrested in 1992 from Jhang under false allegations. Saqi Shah was only 17 at the time. No court in the world orders the death penalty on an underage child, yet both the Shiite boys were handed the death penalty. Both have now been in prison for 20 years. A few months ago an appeal was filed with Chaudhary Iftikhar’s Courts which was denied with a statement ‘our court’ does not free anyone involved in a sectarian violence case!
In the name of justice, Chaudhary Iftikhar’s courts do not only free the killers of over a 100 Shiites but also order the government to pay compensation to their families. Like the time the courts issued an order for the government to pay compensation to the families of those killed in the Lal Masjid Operation and threatened the ‘Contempt of Court’ if the compensation was denied.
Since 1990, atleast 15,000 Shiites have been killed in Pakistan. And not a single person has been punished for it in any way. I wonder which force it is that frees these terrorists from courts and jails.
In the past 22 years, only 2 people have been hanged for ‘sectarian violence’ and they were both Shiites; Martyr Shehzad Ali and Martyr Muharrum Ali. Muharrum Ali was arrested and Leader of the Shiites [Sajid Ali Naqvi] came on the media and acted satisfied. The martyr, before being hanged, said about the leader, ‘He is a traitor. Don’t let him come to my funeral.’
All of Pakistan’s Shiites arrested for sectarian reasons write 2 words in the section for ‘Successors’.. ‘No Successors’. This is a slap in the face for the leaders of Shiites and all the Shiites in Pakistan. Collect data about the martyrs and innocent jailed, it isnt more than 5000!
Isn’t it sad? A nation of 50,000,000 can’t sponsor the 5000 arrested?
Do we not claim to be the followers of people who used to go days hungry but gave their food to the poor, the orphans and the captives? Do we have any of the habits of the Ahlulbayt?
The Leaders of the Nation are forever respected as we give our votes on their orders but should we not question who’s job it is to make sure the children of the martyrs don’t go to sleep hungry at night?
Who’s job is it then?
When I see the life of our Leader, I feel really proud. He has several kinds of food, the best of clothing, Pajero cars and huge houses. His children study in Cadet Colleges and the best of schools. May ALLAH provide him ever more luxury. But I hear the screams of ‘I’m thirsty’ and ‘I’m hungry’ from the houses of the martyrs and captives.

Sadly we have become deaf to those screams. In a nation of 50,000,000 are there not 5,000 followers of Abbas-e-Alamdar who would get their Mashkizay and go out to help the families of our martyrs and jailed?
